KINGDOM HEARTS

Kingdom Hearts is a videogame franchise born from a collaboration between Disney and Square Enix. The games combine aspects of the Disney universes and a new Final Fantasy universe to create an addictive fantasy epic. The games are beautiful like everything that Square Enix puts out, but on top of that, you get Donald Duck and King Mickey. THAT is worth the price of the game. So far, two games, lust "final mixes" have been released. A PSP Kingdom Hearts title is on the way to the U.S. soon, as is Kingdom Hearts 3 (so they say).

DOES IT OFFEND YOU, YEAH?

Does It offend You, yeah? is another British band. Their music is high energy like Hadouken! and they also use punctuation in their title. They have an album, its pretty good. but the thing that put them on the map is their skills are remix artists. They're sick.

ABSOLUT METROPOLIS

A few years back, Absolut Vodka set up a collaboration with some premiere Japanese artistic talents. The project was Absolut Metropolis, a study on the uniqueness of the people, art and culturtes that came out of Tokyo. These are some of the artists involved.

These guys are as popular in South Korea as G-Unit was in the States in 2004. And the music is actually good. How many rappers can honestly say that these days?

HADOUKEN!

Obviously, the name get's your attention, especially if you're a Street Fighter fan. But I've been listening to Hadouken since late 2006 and I can't help but feel that they deserve the name. A high energy band named after a focused energy attack. Pretty cool.

I just picked up Neil Gaiman's short stories collection, Fragile Things. The last story in the book is called Monarch of the Glen, a story set 2 years after the events of American Gods and starring Shadow as he gets pulled into another clash between the past and present in Scotland. Awesome.

HOLY CRAAAAAP!!!

I just finished reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman and I think i finally understand why people work themselves into seizurous frenzies over Neil Gaiman's work. The man is brilliant. disgustingly brilliant. I find myself in the same position I was after reading Ready, Okay! (Adam Cadre), The Taking (Dean Koontz), and wathing Skins (The UK's Channel 4): in serious need of revision in my own writing. Once again I feel inadequite as a writer, but better as a human being for having read this.
